Leonard Fuller Bursary

We are delighted to announce that we have chosen two riders as this year’s recipients of the Leonard Fuller Bursary; 11 year old Autumn Allen and 27 year old Harris Dickenson.  They are both thrilled to be given this opportunity to further their riding skills and we look forward to watching them progress over the year.  We shall be updating you all with news from them later in the year.

Andover RDA AGM

We held a well attended AGM in November at St Mary Bourne Village Centre with a fascinating talk by Marie Slater from Equus Training.  We all learned a great deal and agreed that we would love to be able to pocket Marie and bring along to every riding session!  There were lots of delicious refreshments and everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the evening.

Children's Sessions

The Children's Riding sessions will begin again after Easter and we look forward to welcoming back the young participants from the four local SEND schools that take advantage of our wonderful riding opportunities.

Adult Ride

We have a lovely new horse for the Adult Ride called Elvis who has replaced Jack.  Jack is now happily enjoying retirement with his owner.  Elvis is settling in well and will hopefully be a great asset to our team of horses and ponies.  We are still actively looking for another horse for the Adult Ride and hope that something suitable will turn up soon.

Fun Day  - July 2025

Once again we held our Fun Day at Sladen Green and were blessed with good weather and lots of kind and willing volunteers. A big thank you to all those involved, especially Mark Hyson for his car park steward skills, Judy Hyson and Carolanne Bowyer who stepped in as very professional and kind Handy Pony judges, Kate Coldicott and Di Robinson for stewarding the woodland walk, Caroline Orange for her expert and great fun organisation of the Gymkhana and Rosie Davies for her delicious sandwiches and cakes.

Thank you also, of course, to Elizabeth for once again hosting us – we are so grateful to her for the time and effort that goes into preparing the area and for the use of her beautiful fields and woodland.  The riders had a wonderful time and there were rosettes all round.
